Tagged Again!

Once again, Mindy has tagged me...Thanks!

1. Ten years ago, I had two less kids, I was still a newlywed and I was probably begging Wes to take me back to Disneyland-there's a surprise!

2. Things on my TO DO list: Build a new home, Complete the ASQ Quality Auditor certification, clean the window sills, make dinner. (And of course go to Disneyland this year at least once!)

3. Bad Habits: Chocolate, Diet Coke (They offset each other, right?), putting off housework, Disney purchases (I don't think Disney is a bad habit, but I'm sure Wes would put this down on my list!)

4. Places I have lived...in the interest of my personally identity I have only lived in the states of confusion, denial and utter happiness!

5. Things that people don't know about me: I have very little patience for stupid people that do stupid things. I LOVE DISNEY! I only appear to be organized...

I tag Nic, Julie and Jamie!

It's Official!!!

It finally arrived! I am officially a member of...
"The Club That's Made For You and Me".
D23 is the newest Disney Club- So COOL! The quarterly publication is incredible. I read it front to back when I got it. Beautifully done! Love it, Love it, Love it! I even got an official club member certificate with my name. The special gift from the Disney archives that comes with the membership is shipped separately. I can't wait to see what it is!

Our Shining Star

Katelyn was picked to be the Shining Star in class this last week. She reminded me about the poster on Sunday afternoon. Of course she needed it Monday morning!
We worked until after 8:00 and here is the result.
Keep in mind it looked a lot better before it spent a week hanging in her classroom.
The Wizard of Oz is on the right
and Disney is at the bottom.
She is very proud of her work!

Old Fashioned Entertainment

Someone asked how I was able to complete Dax's cake with two five year olds at home. It would be hard to believe without pictures for proof...
Hunter and Ryan playing checkers. Hunter is winning, but Ryan can hold his own. I'm not sure if that means Ryan is very good for his age or Hunter needs to read Checkers for Dummies.

Kate and Wes played a game of Memory...Katelyn's rules. Did you know that as long as you don't turn the card completely over peeking is allowed? But... only if you're five. I suppose the rule will be subject to change when she has a birthday!
Ryan has been practicing touching his tongue to his nose. I don't know why, but this fascinates him. Go figure! A few more tongue stretches and he just may make his goal!

Birthday Party for Action Daxen

Number Two!

Yesterday we celebrated Dax's 2nd birthday. He has been practicing for weeks that he is two (he says two as he holds up all five fingers- too cute!)

I made a Superman cake for Dax. He likes superheroes as much as Ryan and Katelyn.

Of course I gave him the piece of cake with black icing! YUM!

The Amazing Hot Rod and his lovely assistant Katelyn (Petunia Brightsprite) provided the entertainment. No need to pay for a magician when you invite Grandpa! We're still trying to figure out how he did that amazing trick with the quarter.

Warren is still as cute as can be- Dawni really had him laughing!

Renny loves his uncle Ry-Ry.

Hunter (as charming as ever) with G-Ma. Well that's about it- Somehow both Rikki and Mike managed to avoid the camera the entire time. We had tons of fun, lots of food and can't wait to do it again next month for Renny!

Anticipation

Do you remember that commercial in the early 80's that used the Carly Simon song 'Anticipation' to advertise Heinz ketchup? Yummy fries on a plate that couldn't be eaten until the ketchup had been poured?
SLOWLY the ketchup makes it way down the neck of the bottle. No matter what anyone did to speed the process up, (hitting the bottle on the bottom or smacking the side of the bottle), it didn't help the ketchup flow to the opening any faster.

So where am I going with all this?

This my friends, is my adopted theme song for building our new house. We started in about August- design of the plan, picking materials, etc. all in place pretty fast.

Here's where the anticipation comes in...

We had to get signatures from the county to be our own subdivision. I believe the number was six but it may as well have been a hundred as long as it took! Approval to build off our own lane from UDOT, check this, check that. Pay for this, do that, run here, run there. (Poor Wes did most the run here and there!) Buy soapstone for counter tops- obviously one of the most important tasks in this whole mess!!! Sign on the line at least 50 times-
OK,
Plans-check
Picked out materials-check
permits-check
soapstone- check, check
loan-check
...and where are we now?

Waiting for the weather to break- and it just keeps coming! Sing it friends...Anticipation, Anticipaaaation. It's making me late and keeping me waiting!
Katelyn and Ryan vote to just put the Christmas tree back up!

A Warm Welcome

OK- For those who take the time to keep up with us, I need to apologize. Due to the need to cover vacationing co-workers, I have not had any time to update posts in weeks. Needless to say, all time that I did have off (late evenings and one day when I slept nearly 14 hours) was spent with kids and the washer and dryer.

When I got home last night, Ryan and Kate had prepared a welcome home just for me...

EVERY stuffed animal that they own out in the family room to welcome me home!
Cute and sweet but now I just have one question...

WHO is going to put them all back????
I'll give you one guess...
