Why Is It?????

Why is it that a work day always gets longer when it precedes vacation time???

It never fails, the day seems to be going so well and then...

POW! BAM! CRUNCH!

It all hits within the last two to three hours of the day. It's never just one task. Usually it's five or six things that can't wait.

They need to be done NOW...not when you get back in a week.

It always happens that way. No matter how hard I try and organize my time, I ALWAYS end up staying at least two hours later than usual.

It's just not right!!!!!!

On to another subject...

For those friends and family members who don't know this already...I LOVE to read! I just finished a series of books similar to Harry Potter. (And in record time- three days, four books and only five loads of laundry waiting.)

Percy Jackson and the Olympians- very good, clean read, and just as hard to put down as Harry Potter! Story line- Young boy battles mythological monsters- trying to save the world from sure destruction should the Titans take over. I was amazed how much Greek Mythology I retained from my high school years! The fifth book in the series is expected late spring '09. I better pre-order now!!!

An Afternoon with Katelyn

It's COLD! Too cold outside for girls. Especially girls without snow pants, boots or gloves. SO...While the BOYS go play with the 4 wheeler and snowmobiles, Kate and I get an afternoon to ourselves. It's important to note that Katelyn would rather go with the boys than stay home with Mom.

What to do...Easy Bake? She wouldn't hear of it!
Bake big cookies? Not a chance!
Read a book? Okay maybe one or two; we ended up reading three. ('Just Awful', 'I Learned From the Mouse' and 'The Little House'.)
Enough stories MOM! I want to watch a movie. My favorite "THE WIZARD OF OZ"!
I've not counted, but I'm sure she's seen the film at least a hundred times. She narrates as we go. Our VHS tape of "The Wizard" was worn out by Katelyn. Santa spent a pretty penny to bring her the DVD of "The Wizard"- since it has not been on the market since 2003. (Thank goodness for EBay!)
Five minutes into the color part in Munchkinland Katelyn announces, "I like the good witch Belinda."
"It's Glinda", I say. She asks if I'm sure. Of course I'm sure I read the books and the 'Wicked' series.
She states emphatically that I am wrong. "Maybe you should learn to read like me."
An afternoon with Katelyn...always good stuff!!
Can we watch something else next time??????

New Beginnings...

Okay everyone...Lets give this a try! I figured since our family is as interesting as the next, why not start a blog to keep in touch with friends and family. I won't promise something new everyday; Heck...I'll be lucky to find the time to post once a week!

A little about the Pierson bunch. We work hard, we play hard. That about sums it up! We're busy with kids and family. We run here and run there. All the while the kids are asking "Are We There Yet?". Thus, the title for our blog. Whether we are in a vehicle or waiting for bedtime; Or my favorite...counting the days until the next Disney vacation.

ARE WE THERE YET???????
