Pure Evil
The one thing that you don't want to do when you're trying to watch your weight is to make a deal with guys at work that costs you hot fudge and brownies. I couldn't resist...
It's all about portion control-RIGHT?
Kari's Hot Fudge
1 c semi-sweet chips
1/4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 c butter
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 c corn syrup
Combine together in saucepan over medium heat- stirring constantly until all ingredients are melted and smooth. IF you have leftovers, they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge up to one month. You can also use a spoon to eat this stuff directly from the fridge...MMM just like real fudge! If you're watching your figure, I recommend that you only make this once in awhile!

Busy Weekend...
We were blessed to attend two very special events this last weekend. The first was on Saturday. Mac was baptized. He's such a sweet little boy. Always smiling- Ryan and Katelyn love him lots.

On the way to the baptism, we were listening to Insideout Acapella and their version of the songs Baptism and When I Am Baptized. Ryan asked what baptism was all about and I started to explain that it was a step to get back to Heavenly Father, and that baptism is a way to wash away your sins and start with a clean slate. Ryan pondered this for a moment then said,"Gee that's funny, I always thought that Mac was a pretty good kid." Apparently he missed the step back to Heavenly Father and focused on the sinning!
We went back on Sunday and attended sacrament meeting with Jeremy and Angie. Mac was confirmed and Ky was blessed. Ky is such a sweet little baby. He was passed around the entire meeting and then the entire luncheon. I never heard a peep out of him! He reminds me of Jakoby...
Angie is pretty sad she has to go back to work in a few weeks...I don't blame her one bit!

Movie Night!
Hunter and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince last week when Wes was gone. It was a great movie- really well done. I just wonder why they insist in leaving parts from the book out that were important. (At least I thought they were important.)Like the whole ring business. A few flashes at the spin of a ring just didn't do it for me. I'd of rather they left out the whole romance part of it and just stuck to the history part of the book. Why was Dumbledores hand decaying?? You had to read the book to know. I certainly hope they put those things in the last two films. OR I just need to realize that the books are always better than the movies!

Vote For Your Favorite
OK- I need someone else's opinion other than Wes'. Below are two samples of cultured granite that I cannot choose between. The cultured granite will be in the master bath- in the shower and used for the tub surround. The tub is white and the tile on the floor is posted below too.
The sample on the left is called Walnut Toffee and the sample on the right is Cobblestone. Both look great with the tile. Remember- I'm going for timeless rather than trendy. Leave your vote in a comment! I need to choose by Wednesday!

I'm Alive!!!!
I made it through the seven days straight and then had to recover for a few days- I'm getting way too old to work that many days in a row!
Just a quick update on some of the things that we've done in the last little while, (in no particular order!)
I took Dawni, Hunter and Dawni's friend Dillon to walk in the Box Elder County Relay for Life. We walked for just over an hour- sponsored by the MOM Cares Employee Foundation. This is something that I have taken the older kids to do for the last three years. We choose to walk after midnight- that way we don't roast in the hot sun...

They sang an acapella song called "Peanut Butter and Jelly". It was too funny- and they actually did a really great job. I loved the performance so much, I set out to find the song on CD for myself and the little ones. Turns out, the version that he sang is from a group that started singing together at BYU. They have several CDs and I purchased two that have several souped up primary songs on them.
The little ones love them- as do I. Especially the "Once There Was A Snowman" songs. I recommend getting these for yourselves! They have several other CDs and all the song clips I've heard are excellent. Check them out using the link below...They're on itunes too!
